By Sharing The News
Local moms activate their communities by Sharing A Meal.
We’re asking everyone to #ShareAMeal, and the turnout has been inspiring. Whether it’s spreading the news or participating in one of the suggested ways to share a meal, we have lots of partners in this effort, and these bloggers are some of them.
With child hunger, one issue is that many people tend to think it doesn’t exist near them, and therefore the problem can go unspoken or unnoticed. Spreading the word and activating the community can make a major difference.
In a brave and touching post, Thrifty Nifty Mommy explained why she’s inspired to #ShareAMeal by publishing a personal childhood family photo and recalling her own mother’s difficulty feeding multiple children on a single income.
Blogger ANutInANutshell recounted her experiences volunteering and started a neighborhood food donation. She created a fun holiday themed donation box at her home, and encouraged neighbors to donate food.
Picking up on another #ShareAMeal suggestion, Mommy Poppins started a virtual food drive through Feeding America’s website to enlist help from friends and followers across the globe.
Be sure to check out the work they've done -- you'll be inspired, too. Tell us how you plan to share a meal, or download our toolkit for more information on how you can get involved.
